Project Engineer, EPC Division
We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Turku office. The Project Engineer within our EPC Division is responsible for driving technical delivery across projects from order intake through delivery and warranty. This role leads and coordinates engineering activities, ensures compliance with project specifications and company standards, and collaborates with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to achieve schedule, cost, and quality targets. The position requires strong engineering competence, structured project follow‑up, and proactive communication in an international, multidisciplinary environment.
What You’ll Do
You will work across the project lifecycle and perform activities such as:
Lead project engineering activities: Coordinate and guide the project design team in cooperation with the Design Manager and under the supervision of the Project Engineering Manager; support technical decision‑making to ensure solutions meet project and customer requirements.
Engineering planning & follow‑up: Prepare and maintain engineering schedules, detailed design tasks, and resource plans aligned with the project master plan; monitor engineering hours and progress against targets; produce follow‑up documentation for weekly and monthly reporting.
Technical coordination & communication: Ensure effective coordination with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, production, procurement, and other internal stakeholders; organize and participate in technical design review meetings; communicate technical solutions and status clearly to stakeholders.
Documentation & compliance: Maintain accurate design documentation (drawings, specifications, material lists, manuals); ensure compliance with applicable standards, project requirements, and ALMACO procedures; report on non‑conformities, risks, and customer feedback.
Cross‑functional support & continuous improvement: Provide technical support during execution and warranty phases; contribute to process improvements, product standardization, and enhanced working methods.
What You Bring
We seek a motivated engineering professional with strong technical skills and a structured approach. Required and preferred qualifications include:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical education in a relevant discipline (mechanical, marine, naval architecture, or related).
Technical competence: Solid understanding of engineering principles and shipbuilding contexts; ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
Software skills: Proficiency in CAD tools and Microsoft Office; experience with project tracking tools and PLM systems is an advantage.
Project experience: Experience in design coordination, technical planning, or project engineering in EPC, marine, or offshore projects is preferred.
Languages: Fluent in spoken and written English.
Personal skills: Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, problem‑solving mindset, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
