Automation Engineer, Lifecyle Services Division
As Automation Engineer, in our Lifecyle Service Division you will hold the following responsibilities:
- Regularly inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot the automation systems controlling refrigeration machinery onboard cruise ships to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
- Participating in the design and commissioning of newbuild installations: Designing systems architecture, programing PLC/controllers and designing supervision systems, testing and adjustment during commissioning
- Participating in project estimation and on customer proposals.
- Act as automation technical expert for new and ongoing projects.
- Oversee the planning and execution phases of projects including installation, commissioning, crew training, and reporting of refrigeration supervision systems and automation controls on new and existing ships.
- Participate in maintaining detailed records of all maintenance activities, system modifications, and performance metrics.
- Work closely with other engineering teams, ship operators, and third-party vendors to coordinate maintenance schedules, system upgrades, and emergency repairs.
To be successful in the position, you will need:
- Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering, with a focus on refrigeration systems in a maritime or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Schneider/Rockwell/Siemens), SCADA systems (Ignition), and other industrial control systems.
- Strong understanding of refrigeration systems operation and controls, components, and maintenance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to train and mentor technical staff.
- Willingness to travel frequently to various global locations to support ship operations.
